First of all you should think about some mechanical concept of how the pills are stored, to be dispensed at a given time.
Maybe a wheel with buckets in it, which a servo can turn over, after the wheel rotated at next position.
Micro-switches can be used, to sense that wheel has reached next position, and stop geared motor.
I think this is a job for raspberry PICO and MicroPython.
