I got nuthin'.
I tried the pi on four different screens of different ages and resolutions including my son's crash how gaming screen which is less than a year old and I got no signal on all of them. I was using the branded hdmi cable and the pi without the SD card to eliminate the possibility that the signal was being mucked up by some tweak I made and then forgot about. I tried both hdmi ports on all screens.
I've really spent way too much time on something that should be working out of the box. If there is an upgrade in the future that fixes whatever the problem is then great otherwise I'm just going to use it headless.
