Yeah after switching to bookworm the hotspot does just work/I connected to it.
Still trying to figure out how you get to a web app eg. I have a node server running on port 8080 not sure how to get to it.
Tried http://localhost tried the 10 address... will keep looking. Almost there.
I think a python server eg. flask would be the way to go so it works with the rest of the rpi code eg. python

Ahh I got it, it is using the 10 address (DNS)
http://10.42.0.1:8080 in my case works while connected to the hotspot
I'll have to add a mode toggle where it gets out of this hotspot so it can go back to a local network eg. 192
