Build motion from source as I said earlier - it works.

Sorry, I thought your previous post provided a solution only for the most recent hardware and that it wouldn't be necessary on older hardware (must take ages to compile that on RPi Zero). FTR I Have RPi Zero W and official Camera Module v2.1.

So:

1. ditch RPi Web Interface
2. start again from Raspbian Lite,
3. follow GitHub instructions for motionEye?

@ame: what are your settings? Since your experience is so different from mine.
