Android • KonstaKANG LineageOS 20 - Waveshare 3.5" Display Not Working

Hello everyone,

I have spent the better part of a day trying to get the Waveshare 3.5" Touchscreen Display to work with my Raspberry Pi that has LineageOS 20 imaged onto it.
I have tried everything possible to try to figure out how to get this display to work, but no matter what I do I always end up with the white backlight just shining and not doing anything.
Just so you know, I've tried:
1. Scouring the forums for other people with this problem. Most of the others were using very different or old displays
2. Downloading the drivers through a terminal on the OS (doesn't work, can't have superuser work correctly even with it rooted on Lineage)
3. Following every step in the Waveshare installation guide

Especially on the third one. I have tried practically every combination of things in /boot/config.txt to no avail. I know that the screen works because I used Waveshare's provided image with the drivers pre-installed and it worked just fine, so I don't know where I'm going wrong.

If anyone has any ideas or experience, please let me know as this has been an excruciatingly frustrating task. Thank you in advance.
