Hello aBUGSworstnightmare, I have some of the almost flat USB cables shown in your link. To use them as is, I would have to plug the cable in the front of the Pi 4 then bend under. That are not that flexible and there would be a big plug sticking out the front.
There are flatter cables equivalent to the the one you mention but without the thick plastic protective sheath. I would buy one of the the thinner cables or just buy a cheap cable and strip off the outer layers.
I am looking at removing the Type-A plug and soldering the wires direct to the base so there is nothing protruding from the front of the Pi 4. What I am asking about is the practicality of soldering those wires and would the USB 3 maintain USB 3 speed.
