In fact, I'm somewhat surprised they didn't spot the mistake in your fstab.

For future reference, I am a 'he' (I am way too old for all this he/she/they thing), but yes, I totally missed it, sometimes you cannot see the wood for the trees

Now that the OP has got it working and hopefully understands how it now works, I would suggest that he updates his older Samba machines, Samba 4.9.5 is hopelessly out of date.
