Beginners • Re: Allowing Pi to boot even if HDMI monitor is turned off or disconnected

Is there anything equivalent for the Pi5? I gather that the file has been moved to /boot/firmware/config.txt. I'm reluctant to change the file in case I do something that stops the Pi from booting, which would mean I would lose the ability to undo the changes in the file...
Since you have multiple Pis, you have a fairly easy way out of that situation. Take the microSD card out of the Pi that's not booting or not coming online, and put it into a USB SD/microSD card adapter. Use a working Pi to mount the bootfs & rootfs on the problem card, and you can then poke around to see what's going on or make changes to it. By default (with Desktop autologin mode set in raspi-config, which is the default setting for a fresh install), a Raspios 12 Pi should mount the SD card from another Pi as /media/username/bootfs and /media/username/rootfs.
Another way to get at config.txt is an MS Windows system. Windows can "see" the boot partition of the SD card and you can edit it from there.
