Troubleshooting • Problem with SSD password required?

I am trying to use a Sabrent (model EC-UASP) USB to SATA adapter with an SSD on a Raspberry Pi 5. I have had the same problem now with 2 different drives. I have the OS loaded on an SD card, USB boot enabled, using the Pi to load OS onto the SSD. When I select the SSD as the location for the setup, The Pi says "Authentication is required to open SABRENT SABRENT (/dev/sda)." Both drives I tried were formatted on a Windows PC prior to using on the Pi. The drive and the Sabrent adapter seem to work fine on PC. Why would a password be required for a freshly formatted drive? I never setup encryption or password protection on the drive and I'm not aware of the adapter having any security features. The Pi is seeing the SSD as a Sabrent instead of TeamGroup. It kind of seems like the Pi doesn't like the USB to SATA adapter but I don't have another one to try. I have very little Linux experience and wouldn't even be trying any of this without Chat GPT. My Pi power supply is only 3.5A but I do have a powered USB hub that can handle 2.5A, the drive says 1.5A. I've tried with and without the hub. I know Pi's are really particular with power supplies. Not sure if there's anything I can try before buying a new 5A power supply or USB to SATA adapter.
Thanks!
