Troubleshooting • Re: "dd" Command Won't Produce a Bootable SD card

<<snip>>

It's a 64 GB micro SD card, and the image was made from one that's only 32 GB. So, there's no danger of the image not being able to fit on the card.

My plan, now, is to go out and buy an external, micro SD card reader, and try using that to rewrite this image onto the card. Hopefully, that'll do the trick.

Thanks, so much, for all of these responses. They're very helpful!
The 32GB uSD card would have been uSDHC whereas the (new) 64GB uSD card would be usdXC. Unless it's explicitly labelled/stated "somewhere" there's a possibility that a "built-in" card "slot" is uSDXC compatible so, yes, purchase of an external, USB uSDXC compatible card reader/writer is a "good idea" FWIW, here's a few examples I've used:

https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_p ... r.2FWriter
https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_p ... der.22_Hub
and this one supplied with a uSDXC card:
