Hello there,
I just bought a CM4101008 for one of my projects with a CM4IO Board.
This is my first time using compute module, but i am familier with other raspberries (I have Pi3, Pi4, Zero2W) and i never had any issue flashing them or using.
I am testing this CM4 for a couple of hours and it works really strange... I am using windows with rpiboot installed (downloaded from github) to reach the EMMC and I am using the official Raspberry Pi Imager to flash Raspberry Pi OS (64-bit) (the recommanded one) to it.
The flashing process works well (it takes a little longer [around 5-10 mins] than in case of PI4 but its okay). Than I remove the jumper which was preventing the boot, and connect a monitor to see how the boot goes and an ethernet cable. The boot has different results. Sometimes it freezes during the boot window is visible, sometimes it freezes when only something like this is visible:
[ 1.953444] brcm-pcie fd500000.pcie: link down
But it never finish booting and reach the login window or logs in.
Than I tried to flash the Lite OS (without desktop). It can boot up, but it freeze after a couple of minutes after I log in, and try to set things up.
The dmesg shows errors about some services like journalctl, NetworkManager etc. Like they failed to start or something.
Sometimes it freezes during boot time, and cannot boot.... But it cannot work longer than 5 mins.
First i thought its overheating so I placed a heatsink to the processor. But its not helping.
Could you please help me what can go wrong?
(BTW the 1 Gb RAM 8Gb EMMC version should work with the recommanded OS with desktop, right?)
Thanks for your response in advance.
