I am currently using a 35w usb c wall brick. I also tried a 65w wall usb c wall brick as well. When using the 65w charger, I noticed that instead of rebooting it just blinks the red led constantly, there is no rebooting happening. It sounds like you need a beefier power supply. What kind of power supply are you using?
Note that it takes more juice to boot a Pi than it takes to keep it running. On some of my Pis, I get "low power" indicators during initial boot, but not thereafter, so it makes sense that if this WiFi adapter takes a lot of juice, it could be enough of a drain to prevent booting. But be OK if/when you plug it in later on.
Note that sometimes, things go the other way. That is, if you have it plugged in at boot time, it is OK, but if you don't have it plugged in at boot time, and then plug it in later, it crashes.
In any case, it's all about the power, baby.
