Some useful guidelines there.
I would also suggest that you buy the largest SD cards that you can afford. The difference between the cost of a 64GB/128GB card VS say a 16GB card is often not much and larger cards last longer. For example; In the manufacturer's online shop; on a certain well known online retailer at the moment; They are selling the sandisk Ultra 16GB for 16€90 and the 128GB one for 17€98....and the 64GB for 11€65 ! Only a fool or a knave would buy the 16GB; surely?
"H2testw" is a windows app; so won't run on the Pi. So, not terribly helpful.
I'm not familar with it f3 myself, but I'm dubious sure that it is a great idea either...unless you have a suspicion that the card that you''ve bought is a fake.
From the github page
"f3 is a simple tool that tests flash cards capacity and performance to see if they live up to claimed specifications. It fills the device with pseudorandom data and then checks if it returns the same on reading."
That's surely going to shorten the life of the card?
It also says
"Warning
This will destroy any previously stored data on your disk!"
Hmmm...
What's wrong with using fsck to check disks? That's what I do? Far less destructive.![Exclamation :!:]()
