Your campus is likely using WPA2 Enterprise authentication, which requires manual data entry in wpa-supplicant.
PiOS Bookworm has switched from dhcpcd to NetworkManager which IIRC does not use wpa-supplicant config file. The process is easier.
If you are using the non-lite Pi OS, there should be a Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar. Click it --> Advanced options --> Edit connections --> gear icon --> go to the Wi-Fi Security tab and change values as necessary.
Your campus IT department should be able to help answer any questions about the specific authentication protocol they are using, and they ought to have it documented somewhere.
