To take this all a step further... is there any good way to bit-bang the GPIOs on the RPI5 for doing serial on non-UART GPIOs?
I use pigpio (Joan's amazing code) for that on all previous Pi's with great success, but the RPi5 breaks this for me.
Ideally there'd be a backwards-compatible way of doing this, if anyone has suggestions.
(I have a custom PCB that breaks out up to 13 separate sets of UART inputs/outputs, handled via pigpio bit banging, for integrating a ton of serial sensors to a PLC type system).
Kevin.
