What could be the cause of the ethernet connections suddenly not working any more:
My router is offering an IP address, when I connect the cable, but it doesn't bind. The lights on the RJ45 connector are on (orange steady, green blinking). The bi-directional arrows on the GUI are blinking, saying I don't have a connection.
It was working fine for months.
I tried changing cables, router ports, power supplies...
Wi-Fi connection works fine.
The same cable/port works for other IP devices.
Latest OS update, but it wasn't OS update related.

Maybe a helpful reply would need knowledge of what model of RPi microcomputer board you are using, and what Operating System it is (and maybe was) running.
Under what circumstances did it stop working? An electrical storm? A new ISP? Other new devices attached to your local network?
Is your local network at home, based on your Internet connection? Or are you in some institutional or business environment?
